The details of my job can be glamorous at times. I get to meet and work with some amazing, creative and fascinating people, but at the end of the day, I’m still and ordinary woman, with an average pay check and a baby to care for. When my little one was only a couple of months old we went on a touring vacation in the north of Scotland and we stayed at several different hotels, guest houses and B & Bs. The facilities in these places ranged from excellent to non-existent.
We found that most of the smaller B&Bs didn’t have anywhere for our baby to sleep. Luckily we brought our Eddie Bauer bassinet along with us which meant that the wee man could sleep right next to our bed. I would highly recommend a bassinet with some sort of play yard incorporated if you are travelling with a baby, it allows you to make your baby comfortable and have somewhere safe to play in places that aren’t always set up for babies.
Party games liven and lighten up any special occasion. They are effective ways to break the ice among guests who do not know each other. They are also good sources of laughter and fun during any activities. A shower party cannot be without baby shower games. One of the most common is known as “name the baby” game. This is where each guest would take turns to guess the name of the new child and the winner will be chosen of course by the expectant parents. The range of christening gowns for girls that you saw the other day just came in only a few days ago to that christian store. The word is already out and some of the church members of the local church nearby are paying a visit to that store to pick up a few christening gowns for girls since they are new for their babies’ christening ceremony. Guess people know where to find good stuff and since the christian baby store also has an online store, some of my friends that I know would be able to buy from them directly once I send them their website address. My friends found out about that christian store because I had recently posted it up on my Facebook and they were rather curious as to what type of store it is. So it is a good thing that they have their own online website which makes doing business with them easier.
I thought it was quite comical when two of our friends bought european strollers for their babies, because they said they heard that they were better than anything you could buy in the US. I thought this was kind of funny and sad in the same way, because I knew from doing research that they weren’t all that much better, and it was more of a status thing, even though my friends didn’t want to admit to it. It seems like a lot a new parents who get their circle of friends, all want to try and one up each other about things they get their babies, but this is a trap that I was determined to stay out of.
